The Dauntless Spirit of Helen Keller Will Inspire Me Forever
After having read the article “If I Had Three Days of Light”, I was
completely shocked by the dauntless spirit and the indomitable will
of the article’s writer Helen Keller. She was blind and deaf from infancy.
Her blindness and deafness reced her into the dark and lonely
world. However she created a miracle of life. She learnt to read not
through listening but through touching. She finished her studies in a
Branch College of Harvard University and won a Bachelor’s Degree in
literature and hence became the first blind and deaf woman with
the Bachelor’s Degree in the human history. What is more, she also ran up
and down to raise money for the American Foundation for the Blind and
the Helen Keller International Organization for the purpose of improving
the working and living conditions of the blind throughout the world. In her
life time of 88 years, she wrote many articles which inspired the disabled
and many common people. She also won numerous honors. She left us the
dauntless working spirit, which will surely encourage all of us to overcome the
difficulties in our daily life. Following Hellen’s example, I’ll certainly study and work
harder in the future. I’ll never yield to any hardships and difficulties. Hellen’s
dauntless spirit will inspire me forever.
